Position: SALES OFFICERS – (03)

Reporting: The person in this position will be reporting to the National Sales Manager.

Main Tasks: The position within the Commercial Department requires the holder to sell company products by identifying leads, educating prospects on products through calls, trainings and presentations and providing existing customers with exceptional support.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Be the front line sales point by selling company products to achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule.
  • Exhibit qualities of a great relationship manager who is able to collect and manage a portfolio of credit customers.
  • Maintain the set performance and field sales activities as required by the Supervisor.
  • Continuously develop strategies for greater effective sales, both individually and as part of a team.
  • Maintain and develop good relationship with customers through personal contact, meetings and/or via telephone etc.
  • Efficiently gather market intelligence and customer information to enable negotiations regarding variations in prices, delivery and customer specifications to the supervisor.
  • Record sales and order information and report the same to the Commercial Department in a timely manner.
  • Provide accurate feedback on future buying trends to the Commercial Department in order to support the forecasting process.
  • Carefully train all customers on equipment usage, warranty conditions, repayment plans, payment procedure, and in the use of mobile money or airtel money payment process.
  • Carefully select quality customers with capacity to pay for company products and follow up customers closely to ensure timely repayments.

Qualification: Minimum Diploma in Sales and Marketing, Business Management, Agricultural studies or working in agricultural/solar projects is an added advantage.  

Work Experience: The ideal candidate must have worked for a minimum of 2 years, with strong sales experience, proven experience working with farmer organizations and agricultural communities and groups, experienced with credit sales, high value buyers and projects, solar water pump sales and high value agricultural equipment, passion, ambition and DNA of navigating complex B2B (D) or B2C environments. Our current roles are for Kampala, Mpigi and Mbale, candidates are to note that whilst there is no relocation payment, able and flexible Sales persons are welcome from all districts

Prerequisites: Strong communication skills, energetic, resilient and a motivated team player, comfortable working with farmers in remote fields with minimal supervision, ability to set sales plans and budgets that balance sales and economics, entrepreneurial attitude, customer centric and data driven and take ownership to represent the company.
